Which facility?
The W91 main campus facility is suited to housing lower power density installations that have requirements for physical proximity to main campus.

The Bates, Middleton facility is designed to house moderate power density equipment.

The MGHPCC, Holyoke facility is designed to house higher power density equipment.

All the facilities are accessible through dedicated high-speed network links. An overview of each location is given below.

MIT maintains three shared locations that are available Institute wide and in which rack space can be rented to house research computing hardware - W91 on main campus; Bates in Middleton, MA; the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC) in Holyoke, MA.
All three facilities provide purpose built locations for power intensive computing infrastructure. The Bates and MGHPCC facilities employ containment systems for handling exhaust heat. This increases their efficiency and helps lower overall MIT energy and emissions footprint.
